Aikido Yoshokai:

Yoshokai Aikido is the style of Aikido taught in the Jackson YMCA classes. The movements tend to be precise, yet dynamic and energetic. The feeling between people training together (partners), however, is positive and safe. Instead of resisting and being overcome by a technique, partners strive to learn techniques by working together. This approach leads to a mentality of harmony rather than of conflict.

The Aikido Yoshokai Association of North America (AYANA) is headed by Sensei Takashi Kushida, an 8th degree black belt who has been teaching in the Michigan area for over 30 years. AYANA is a non-profit educational organization with its headquarters at Genyokan Dojo in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
With such a close proximity to Genyokan Dojo, Jackson students have the opportunity to attend many special clinics and events held by Kushida Sensei in the Ann Arbor area.
